Software giant IBM is looking into opening an excellence research center in Targu-Mures, according to reports from Agerpres newswire.
“Negotiations regarding the possibility of opening in Targu-Mures a center of excellence in research started in November last year in the presence of Prime-Minister Emil Boc, mayor Dorin Florea and Thomas Reeves, who is global vice-president of IBM Research,” according to a press release of the Targu-Mures city hall.
The press release says IBM representatives took into account the tradition in medicine and pharmacy of the city, the results in research, the quality of universities, an d projects that were started at a local level and then expanded, especially those in partnership with emergency service SMURD and the Ministry of Health.
