IAC Group starts construction works at Bals plant

IAC Group launched today the construction works of a greenfield production facility in Bals, Olt County. The factory, which should be completed by the end of 2011, will produce dashboards, door panels, roof trim and various other components, which will primarily support production at the Ford factory in Craiova. IAC Group pledged to invest EUR 58 million the Bals plant and to create 400 jobs.

IAC is the first vendor in the automotive industry to build “from scratch” a production unit in Romania, to support Ford operations in Craiova.

The Romanian government has supported the project through an investment aid worth EUR 17 million, which will be disbursed in several tranches.
