Google opens office in Romania

Starting this month, Google has established official presence in Romania by opening an office with a local team headed by Dan Bulucea, formerly business and marketing director of Microsoft Romania.

“Google’s aim is to provide the Romanian users, who are very active online, with more useful and innovative tools in local language, as well as help Romanian companies get online and develop their business using the Internet. Romania is a very interesting country for Google where we can see opportunities on both sides – consumer as well as business” said Dan Bulucea, Google’s new Country Manager for Romania.

The Bucharest office headed by Dan Bulucea will be responsible for developing Google’s presence and strategy in Romania, establishing business relationships with Romanian partners, educating local companies about the benefits of going online, direct advertising sales.

Google has been so far present in Romania with its consumer products for Romanian users including first of all Google.ro Search as well as Google Maps, Google Places, Google Apps, Google Translate, and many others.

 

CV Dan Bulucea

Dan Bulucea has spent the last 12 years in Microsoft where he held various roles, most recently as business and marketing director for Microsoft Romania. Prior to that, he worked as senior platform strategy manager at the Microsoft Central & Eastern European HQ in Munich. Before that, he was responsible for the overall platform adoption within the local market for Microsoft Romania. Before joining Microsoft, Bulucea was the General Manager of PC manufacturer Salient Romania. He has an Executive MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
