Google honors Romanian writer I.L. Caragiale

Google has modified its logo today to honor Romanian playwright Ion Luca Caragiale. On January 30, 2012, Romanian commemorates 160 years since the birth of one of its literature icons.

 The logo presents a graphic picture of Caragiale as well as an envelope in one corner, which is an innuendo to one of his most fampus plays, A Lost Letter (O Scrisoare Pierduta).

 Caragiale, a novelist, playwright poet, theater director, political analyst and journalist, was born 160 years ago in Dambovita county. He was

 Another Romanian cultural figure that Google celebrated last year was sculptor Constantin Brancusi on February 19, when Romania marked 135 years since the birth of the artist.
