The local subsidiary of law firm DLA Piper expects to increase its turnover in Romania by 20 percent this year, being currently involved in six merger and acquisition transactions.

These six deals, of which one is potentially a distressed sale, could bring one third of the office’s revenues, said Marian Dinu, country managing partner with DLA Piper. The value of the deals varies between EUR 5 million and a couple of tens of millions of euros.

DLA Piper Romania is planning to enter the fiscal consultancy market this year, said Dinu.

He also expects the local market to see increasing transactional activity.

The law firm saw its revenues in Romania grow by seven percent on what it had initially expected for last year, it said, without specifying the actual sum.

The most important practice areas for the firm in 2009 were mergers and acquisitions, real estate, labor, restructuring, litigation and financing.
