CEZ Romania acquired the Caras Severin hydro power system

CEZ Romania, part of Czech utility company CEZ Group, completed the acquisition of the hydro power system in Caras Severin, near Resita. CEZ Romania has bought 100 percent stake in Hydroenergy TMK Power.

The new company acquired by CEZ controls four lakes with dams – Trei Ape, Gozna, Valiug and Secu -and four micro hydro power plants – Crainicel I, Crainicel II, Grebla and Breazova.

Total installed capacity is approximately 18 MW. Installed capacity of each unit is less than 10 MW.

Currently, CEZ operates 240 MW of installed capacity in the first phase of wind farm in Dobrogea, part of a total 600 MW installed capacity.
