Carrefour Romania has announced the opening of its 25th local hypermarket in Botosani, Eastern Romania. This is the second hypermarket opened in 2011 by the French retailer and a third should follow by yearend in Deva.

The new unit has a 7,000 sqm sales area and it is located in the Botosani Shopping Center. Carrefour Romania will also open this week its 10th supermarket in Bucharest in Veteranilor Square. The retailer now runs 41 supermarkets locally.

In addition to hypermarkets and supermarkets, the retailer operates the Carrefour Express proximity store format in partnership with Angst. Two such units have been opened so far in Bucharest.
