The management and supervisory board of Erste Group Bank AG has announced a number of changes to BCR’s management structure. Martin Skopek, currently BCR executive vice-president of retail and board member, has been appointed holding board member responsible for the retail business, a position he will assume in July. Oana Petrescu, currently executive VP of operations & IT and board member, will take over Skopek’s retail responsibilities on the bank’s management board. Dominic Bruynseels, BCR’s CEO, will assume responsibility for Petrescu’s previous role until her successor is appointed. Petrescu has extensive banking experience as a top executive, member of the BCR board and head of the financial services division at Andersen and Ernst & Young. She is also currently vice-president of the Romanian Banks Association.
Following the completion of the lender’s integration and transformation program, it has decided to appoint a fully dedicated chief risk officer (CRO) to the management board of BCR, a function previously within the remit of the bank’s chief financial officer (CFO). As of August Michael Beitz will hold this position while Helmuth Hintringer, currently executive vice-president of financial & risk and board member of BCR, will focus on his role as CFO. Beitz has been working as senior risk manager at Erste Group for the past 25 years. He has been responsible for risk management at Ceska sporitelna and is currently CRO at Slovenska sporitelna.
