204 IT projects financed from structural funds

The Ministry of Communications (MCSI) has attracted structural funds in excess of EUR 117 million (RON 500 million). Between 2009 and 2010, the ministry financed from European funds – via its Intermediate Organism for the Promotion of Informational Society (OIPSI)- a total of 204 projects that had a cumulated value in excess of EUR 155 million (RON 661.7 million)- most of it from European funds. The value of the non- reimbursable funds amounted to more than EUR 115 (RON 490 million).
The funds that are administered by MCSI between 2007 and 2013 amount to EUR 473 million (RON 1.9 billion), of which EUR 388 million (RON 1.6 billion) from the European Regional Development Fund while the remaining sum represents the public national contribution for the public and private sectors.

 

The current degree of absorption of structural funds within the Priority Axes III

 

* For Operation 3.1.1 – Supporting access to broadband and connected services- 122 projects with a total value of EUR 2 million (RON 8.68) were contracted. A new call for projects will be organized over the next period.

 

* For Operation 3.2.1 – Supporting the implementation of e-governing solutions (including e-administration) and ensuring broadband connection- 337 projects were submitted with a total value of EUR 436 million (RON 1.8 billion). During the first call for projects, 15 projects in value of EUR 42 million (RON 180.6 million) were accepted while in the second stage of the project call, 201 projects in value of EUR 459 million (RON 1.951.4 billion) were evaluated, and the selection will take place.

 

* For Operation 3.2.2 – Implementation of TIC systems for heightened inter-operability of informatics systems- MCSI approved 11 projects out of 37 submitted ones. The total sum of these is EUR 13 million (RON 55.26 million).

 

* For Operation 3.2.3 – Supporting implementation of e-Learning Applications- 11 projects worth EUR 30 million (RON 127.8 million) were contracted and approved. The second call for projects included 134 projects worth EUR 217 million (RON 924.88 million) and is currently under evaluation.

 

* For Operation 3.3.1- Support for the implementation of integrated IT systems and other electronic applications for business management- 15 projects were contracted in value of EUR 1.9 million (RON 8.28 million).

 

* For Operation 3.3.2.- Support for the development of systems of electronic commerce and other electronic solutions for business- 29 projects were submitted in total value of EUR 4.4 million (RON 18.7 million). Of these, 11 projects were approved in total value of EUR 1.9 million (RON 8.32 million).
