BR Analysis. Top 5 companies with highest growth this year on BVB; earnings up to almost 40 percent

The highest growth on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) is usually among companies less known to the public. They have less traded shares, meaning that sometime it might be difficult to find a buyer, but the profit you can make from them is huge. For example, if you would choose the best performer for this year and invest RON 1,000 at the beginning of the year you would have now RON 1,386.

Armatura (symbol ARM)

The highest growth is registered by Armatura SA, a manufacturer of other taps and valves for heating, water and gas installations from Cluj-Napoca. Its shares went up 38.61 percent in the last six months. The producer registered last year total revenues of RON 12.12 million, down from RON 19.5 million in 2016 and recorded losses of RON 5.08 million, higher than those of RON 2.96 million the year before. But the company s turning the numbers after recording total revenues of RON 4.59 million in the first six months and losses were cut to RON 0.38 million.

Condmag (COMI)

On the second place we still have Condmag, a pipeline constructor from Brasov. The company entered in insolvency in July 2015 with a debt of EUR 38 million and succeeded to get out this year in March. Over the period of insolvency the shares were not traded over BVB so in the moment when it came back on the market the growth was over 200 percent. From March till today the share price went down, but it still holds a profit of 33.8 percent. Compared to the quote it has in the moment of insolvency.

Altur (ALT)

The manufacturer of other parts and accessories for motor vehicles from Slatina recorded a growth of 28.13 percent in the last six months. Last year it has registered total revenues of RON 127.5 million, up from RON 96.6 million in 2016 and a net profit of RON 241,779, compared to a loss of RON 249,182 the previous year. In the first half of this year the turnover was RON 50.29 million, the same as the last year, and it has recorded a loss of RON 355,972.

Transilvania Constructii (COTR)

The residential and non-residential buildings constructor Transilvania Constructii from Cluj-Napoca manages a growth of 25 percent. Total revenues recorded last year were RON 25.65 million, similar to that of 2016, and a net income of RON 277,376, down from RON 4.9 million in the previous year. The net profit rebounded this year, with RON 2.7 million in the first semester, while the total revenues were RON 18.2 million.

UAMT (UAM)

Top five is completed by another manufacturer of other parts and accessories for motor vehicles, UAMT from Oradea. The company had total revenues of RON 156.4 million in 2017, up from RON 116.6 million in 2016, and a net profit of RON 5.76 million, similar to that of a year before. In the first half of the year the total revenues were RON 94.22 million, up from RON 72.46 million in the same period of 2017, and the net profit was RON 4.75 million, ip from RON 3.29 million.
