In troubled times there can be many uncertainties, but the past couple of days have shown that one thing is for sure: people, no matter where they are around the world, can get together and support those in need. To show that actions speak louder than words, TBI Bank will provide 250,000 euro to support Ukrainian refugees. This donation comes from the heart of the bank’s team for people escaping from the recent unprecedented events.

But there is more to it. TBI Bank’s team of 16 nationalities, including 42 Ukrainian citizens, champions the values of humanism. Over the weekend, TBI Bank employees traveled to the Romanian-Ukrainian crossing at Siret Porubnoe by cars to pick up and accommodate refugees or bring food and warm clothes to the families in need over the border. And will not stop.

TBI’s team is in constant, 24/7, communication with colleagues in Ukraine and in full readiness to accommodate, help with logistics, and support them and their families both financially and legally. And emotionally. All 1,500 employees of the bank are united and ready to help colleagues and the Ukrainian people.

Additionally, the bank’s management has decided to provide colleagues in all three markets of operation, Romania, Greece and Bulgaria, with one paid leave day per week for volunteering activities in local organizations dealing with the refugee crisis.

“The last days have shown the worst and the best in the world,” said Petr Baron, CEO of TBI. “At TBI Bank we have always been there for people. We realize the terrible situation Ukrainians are going through, as we also have colleagues, families and friends there, and can only hope that our humble donation will be of help to them. Furthermore, we want our example to encourage more Romanian, Greek and Bulgarian companies to get involved with resources of all kinds in support of the people looking for safety.”
