CEC Bank continues its digitalization process and introduces a new savings product, available 100% online directly through the Mobile Banking application – CEC app: The Savings Account with Periodic Deposits.
“CEC Bank is advancing its digitalization strategy by offering a new product that is 100% online – the Savings Account with Periodic Deposits. With this addition, we are expanding our range of existing products, which includes bank account packages, personal loans, and credit cards. This new functionality simplifies the relationship between customers and the bank, ensuring fast workflows, time savings, and quick processing. Accessing banking services should be as straightforward as placing an order on an online store,” stated Mugur Podaru, Director of Remote Operations at CEC Bank.
By opening savings accounts with periodic deposits, customers enjoy the flexibility of current accounts and the advantageous interest rates of deposits. As a result, CEC Bank customers can save at any time without restrictions on the duration, and likewise, they have access to their saved money whenever they need it. Through these new products, customers can customize their goals by naming them as they wish (aliases) and set the amounts and frequency of deposits for each savings account, whether it’s for vacations, purchasing gadgets, down payments for a home loan, and more.
CEC Bank is the first bank in Romania to have introduced a fully online access flow for accounts and banking services as early as 2020. In 2022, the bank attracted over 166,000 new customers, the number of users of digital channels increased by 54%, and the volume of operations through digital channels rose by almost 93%, surpassing the threshold of 100 billion lei for the first time.
