During 2023, Alpha Bank Romania continued the development of its Gold Personal Banking segment, increasing its geographical presence to 30 locations dedicated to premium customers. The Gold Personal Banking client portfolio has grown steadily over the last 3 years, on two important dimensions: in terms of number of clients and of value of personal assets managed by the bank, both of which recorded average annual increases of over 20%.

The benefits of being part of the Gold Personal Banking segment include access to a dedicated current account package offered at advantageous conditions, competitive exchange rates and access to a wide range of products and services, all tailored to the customers’ savings and investment needs.

In addition to savings products, Gold Personal Banking customers can access life insurance products and, depending on their investment profile, capital market products such as shares, bonds and investment funds. They can also invest in both local and foreign capital markets, such as the London, Frankfurt or Euronext stock exchanges.

In terms of investment funds, Alpha Bank Romania provides clients with Alpha (LUX) Global Funds mutual funds, registered in Luxembourg, which have an investment policy based on ESG criteria.

As Alpha Bank Romania is part of the consortium for the intermediation of government securities issued to the general public – Fidelis, Gold Personal Banking clients can also subscribe to these regular issues.

“During 2023 we opened new centres dedicated to the Gold Personal Banking segment, with our offer being now available in 30 locations in 19 major cities in Romania. A customer survey revealed specific factors that garnered appreciation for our services, including a competitive deposit offering, a diverse array of investment solutions, and the presence of a dedicated banker”, said Mario Penados, Director Personal Banking and Customer Data Analysis at Alpha Bank Romania.

Based on the survey findings, 56% of Gold Personal Banking customers indicated a preference for saving, while 33% expressed a preference for both saving and investing.

Regarding the motivations behind their choice to save, the three primary areas cited were the necessity of maintaining a cash reserve for unforeseen circumstances, the desire to preserve their current financial status, and the goal of saving for retirement.

In terms of investment directions, the main categories are: the real estate market, government securities, but also capital market instruments or mutual funds.

Alpha Bank Romania would like to thank all Gold Personal Banking customers for their trust and continues to excel in offering quality services focused on their financial needs.
