Bucharest Christmas Market in Constitution Square

Residents of the capital as well as tourists can enjoy traditional dishes, artisanal products, and art programmes. In addition, you will find Christmas decorations, handmade products (accessories and jewellery), as well as natural care products such as cosmetics or lavender-based products.

West Side Christmas Market in Drumul Taberei Park

The West Side Christmas Market includes an ice rink, a colourful carousel, a 33-metre-high Ferris wheel, and Santa Claus’s Cottage, where kids can send letters and have fun with the elves.

Immersive show at MINA

The Museum of Immersive New Art (MINA) is launching a new show exclusively in December. The spectacle is titled ‘Santa Claus and the Magic of Good Deeds Around the World’ and joins the lineup of the immersive space. The show is created by the Romanian artist studio Les Ateliers Nomad, founded in 2010 and specialized in video mapping, 3D animation, video scenography, post-production, and CGI.

The performance is part of this year’s holiday campaign by Coca-Cola, which places a focus on ‘kindness’ and the potential within each of us to be generous, under the umbrella theme ‘The world needs more Santas.

The show ‘Santa Claus and the Magic of Good Deeds Around the World’ lasts for 15 minutes and is accessible and recommended for those aged 3 and above. The performance depicts a night in the life of Santa Claus as he embarks on a journey around the world. Upon his return to the North Pole, he is eagerly awaited by elves who have already prepared the gifts.

The four shows presented in December at the museum’s immersive space have a duration of 60 minutes and can be enjoyed from Wednesday to Friday between 12:00 PM and 9:00 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The ticket price is RON 50.

Christmas ornaments workshop

On Saturday, December 16, starting around 12:00 PM, J’ai Bistrot organizes a brunch where you get into the Christmas spirit and create special ornaments for your loved ones, if you are interested in this kind of activities. Christmas in Amzei Square

The Amzei Square area has been transformed through light, music, and color with the unveiling of the ‘Birth’ installation, created by set designer Iuliana Vîlsan. The installation, featuring an oversized telescopic tree, symbolizes new beginnings and explores the importance of germination states. Over time, Iuliana Vîlsan has collaborated on and signed over 150 productions in theater, contemporary dance, film, and contemporary circus. For Christmas in Amzei, she envisioned an abstract tree made of glass spheres and reflections.

In the Amzei Creative Corner, Mobius Gallery, The Institute, and the Creative District have launched the ‘Wonderland’ exhibition, showcasing the works of Andrei Costache. The exhibition is a celebration of life through the lens of artistic exploration. In this display, Costache transforms his artistic approach into a vibrant interpretation of everyday existence, where the visual outcomes of his experiments form a harmonious blend of personal realities and instant snapshots of daily life. The exhibition in the Amzei Creative Corner can be visited until January 25, 2024.
