Electric Castle introduces G-Info Spot, revolutionizing sexual education, at the festival and beyond

Red roses, chocolate hearts, declarations of love – Valentine’s Day is about all of these, but it can also be the beginning of an honest and direct conversation about what responsible love means. Electric Castle, in partnership with the SEXUL vs BARZA Association, is launching “G-Info Spot,” a sexual education platform where the public can find all the necessary information for a healthy and fulfilling sexual life.

In 2024, Romania remains at the top of the saddest European statistics regarding how the public understands and applies information related to sexuality and intimate life. An alarming number of cases of sexually transmitted infections or pregnancies in teenagers and a conservative attitude perpetuating myths about sex are enough arguments to declare sexual education, at any age, a necessity.

Electric Castle and the SEXUL vs BARZA Association, an organization actively involved for over 10 years in promoting sexual and reproductive health, have teamed up to launch ginfospot.ro. The platform provides information about healthy practices, hygiene, consent, stereotypes, sexual myths, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted infections, in a direct language without false modesty. The public also has access to a series of tips adapted for moments when they are at a festival: how to prioritize safety even in carefree moments, how important it is to respect each person’s personal space, and what concrete steps can be taken to go home with only pleasant memories. The platform also offers the option to contact experts in the field for those who want more detailed or personalized answers to a specific problem.

“We understand that a festival can be a place where inhibitions disappear, but this should not lead to irresponsible behavior,” says Tudor Costinaș, Electric Castle’s communication director. “G-Info Spot is our way of telling participants that we care about their health and safety. It’s a way to learn together, even while having fun, things that make our lives better beyond the festival experience.”

With the debut of the 10th edition of Electric Castle, G-Info Spot also becomes an information point at the festival, which any participant can access to receive advice and materials. G-Info Spot will complement the initiatives already underway in recent editions, such as the “Angel Shot” alert code and Safety Line (a special phone line for reporting possible aggression situations), which Electric Castle offers to the public for their safety.

“In Romania, children are still brought by storks because of shame and lack of acceptance around sexuality. Campaigns like G-Info Spot have the power to bring information where there are still too many prejudices and fears. We can change mentalities at any age and in any context, and Electric Castle is a perfect place for that,” says Adriana Radu, president of the SEXUL vs BARZA Association.

The materials and information on the ginfospot.ro platform are freely available to event organizers, companies, NGOs, and anyone interested in contributing to the amplification of sexual education messages.
