Coldplay, one of the most renowned rock bands, has announced that they will embark on a European tour in 2024, adding several new destinations on their map, including a show in Bucharest.

Coldplay has recently wrapped up their European tour in Amsterdam this year, but the promotion for their album “Music of the Spheres” doesn’t stop there. Romania will get the opportunity to host the British band in 2024, following a teasing announcement made during one of their electrifying performances in Amsterdam.

The event will take place on June 12, 2024, at the National Arena in Bucharest, and presale codes are going to be available starting Monday, July 24. Details are available on the official website of the band.

The Music of the Spheres World Tour

The Music of the Spheres World Tour is the ongoing eighth concert tour, currently being carried out by the renowned British rock band Coldplay. This tour was announced on 14 October 2021 to support their ninth studio album, “Music of the Spheres,” and marks their return to live performances after the COVID-19 pandemic hiatus. Interestingly, for their previous album, “Everyday Life” (2019), the band refrained from touring to develop an environmentally friendly approach.

Over the course of two years, Coldplay meticulously devised a plan to reduce CO2 emissions by 50%, compared to their previous “A Head Full of Dreams Tour” (2016-17). They are committed to making a positive impact on the environment during their concert run.

One notable aspect of the tour is the extensive use of pyrotechnic and confetti visuals, which have been adapted to minimize their carbon footprint. The band has implemented new formulas to ensure that these effects are 100% biodegradable, thereby reducing their environmental impact significantly.

Additionally, Coldplay has made significant changes to their concert technology. They replaced the Xylobands with PixMob wristbands made from plant-based materials, offering a more sustainable solution for audience engagement and visual effects.

Taking their eco-conscious efforts even further, Coldplay has collaborated with BMW to develop the first-ever mobile rechargeable show battery, further reducing the use of traditional energy sources during their performances.

Furthermore, the band has partnered with One Tree Planted, committing to plant a tree for every ticket sold through a global reforestation agreement. This initiative aims to contribute to the restoration and preservation of forests worldwide, emphasizing their dedication to environmental conservation.

Overall, the Music of the Spheres World Tour not only showcases Coldplay’s musical talent but also serves as a platform to promote sustainable practices within the entertainment industry, setting an inspiring example for other artists and music tours worldwide.

The Coldplay band consists of Chris Martin (vocals), Jon Buckland (guitar), Guy Berryman (bass), and Will Champion (drums). Coldplay is one of the most famous bands in the world and one of the most successful rock bands of the last millennium, with over 50 million albums sold.
