Hyperion Exclusive Chairman’s Reserve Cuveé Roumaine 2013, produced by Domeniile Alexandrion Rhein 1892, part of the Alexandrion Group won the Grand Gold Medal and the “Revelation Romania” distinction at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2023.

The Grand Gold Medal is the most important medal a producer can add to their portfolio, while the Revelation Award is only given to wines with the highest score among other wines from the same country. The two results, obtained by Hyperion Exclusive Chairman’s Reserve Cuveé Roumaine 2013 after a rigorous selection process in a benchmark competition, reinforce Romania’s international reputation in the wine industry and Alexandrion Group’s commitment to innovation and quality. The latest edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2023 held in Istria (Croatia) in May reconfirms the tradition and uniqueness of Romanian wine.

Hyperion Exclusive Cuvée Roumaine, capture the essence of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, classic red grapes, and Fetească Neagră, one of the most valuable Romanian grape variety. Obtained from carefully hand-picked grapes, each varietal was individually fermented, then blended and aged for 18 months in new French oak barriques. Firm in structure and rich in texture, it shows a beautiful mixture of ripe red and black fruits flavours, complemented by soft tones of black chocolate, red pepper and finishing with pleasing spicy and eucalypt notes. The subtle, complex, mysterious notes lead to an intense, memorable experience. Each drop reveals a mystical path to a realm of divinity, a path to sensory indulgence for the most sophisticated taste – a divine joy for those who appreciate the company of a distinctive wine.

With a well-defined position in the super-premium segment, this flagship wine for Domeniile Alexandrion Rhein 1892, a winery part of the Alexandrion Group, located in the Dealu Mare region, has been produced using the finest, hand-picked grapes and modern production equipment and processes. The soil with a millennial tradition in the production of Romanian wine gives the taste special flavours and notes, and the terroir of Dealu Mare is a guarantee of the superior quality.

The Hyperion Exclusive and Hyperion ranges have previously achieved outstanding results at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles: Grand Gold Medal & Revelation Romania (2021) – Hyperion Exclusive Fetească Neagră 2016, Gold Medal (2022) – Hyperion Exclusive Shiraz 2017 Gold Medal (2021) – Hyperion Cabernet Sauvignon 2016.

With a history of over 30 years, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the most prestigious international wine competitions that gathers, every year, producers from more than 50 countries. The jury is made of industry experts – oenologists, international buyers, journalists, critics and representatives of organizations in the field – internationally acknowledged for their ability to evaluate wines rigorously.

Domeniile Alexandrion Rhein 1892, part of the Alexandrion Group, is the first winery in Romania to win the Grand Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2002 with its Prahova Valley Special Reserve Pinot Noir 1999.

Hyperion Exclusive Chairman’s Reserve Cuvée Roumaine 2013 is available to consumers in Romania through Alexandrion Group’s online store, as well as in specialty stores, HoReCa locations or online stores of the Alexandrion Group’s partners.
