Gramont restaurant, located in the Suter Palace Heritage Boutique Hotel, announces a new gastronomic concept, La Symfleurie, an event dinner, which will take place on October 12 and 14, from 19:30. During it, members of the Gramont Gastronomic Society will be delighted by the culinary creativity of Oxana Crețu, an acclaimed Romanian chef, established in the Bordeaux region of France. Owner of the INIMA restaurant, Oxana is one of the few female chefs who have been mentioned by the famous Michelin Guide.

“At Gramont, we aim to leave our mark on the local culinary scene. We want to offer a space to creative chefs and take our guests through a series of tasting journeys. We loved Oxana’s gastronomic vision, a lyrical cuisine that is extremely sensitive, with many floral accents. We were captivated by the way she combines elements and cultures and how she brings together ingredients and recipes from different regions, from Romanian to French and even Japanese. We are happy to have her by our side and present this dialogue between cultures to our guests,” said Alexandru Stoian, operator of the Gramont restaurant.

During the two dinners held in Bucharest, together with the team coordinated by chef Valentin Mitea, resident of the Gramont restaurant, chef Oxana Cretu will cook with carefully selected flowers and plants, well-chosen meats from the best producers and seafood that she treats with delicacy. The flavors she will bring to the fore are the result of her travels around the world.

Moreover, the artist who draws each of her dishes on paper, in order to achieve visual balance and the best chromatic associations, will surprise Gramont’s guests with charming plates, in which the aesthetic elements will be associated with the olfactory and gustatory ones.

“We are fascinated by the way chef Oxana sketches all the details in her notebooks, from the tableware to the actual food, thus highlighting that gastronomy is also a visual art. It’s a technique I’ve never encountered before and which is due to her background as a designer and graphic artist,” added Alexandru Stoian.

The menu of the two days will honor the Romanian cultural heritage, passing it through the filter of a culinary artist, who has lived in France for 17 years, but who has traveled all over the world. As in a symphony designed to conquer and delight the senses, the gastronomic element will be accompanied by works by renowned Romanian artists, such as Viorica Pintilie, musician, and Romanian painters, whose works can be admired on-site.

“I am extremely happy to come to Romania. Traveling around the world, I have reached many places and tasted many flavors, but my greatest joy is cooking for Romanians. I am inspired by my gastronomic memories and landmarks, bringing my stories and encounters to the table. In Romanian culture, food is a deep gesture of love and appreciation. This is what I learned, and this is what I firmly believe: cooking must be born from the heart, transforming memories and experiences into dishes that convey not only flavor but also emotion ,” said chef Oxana Crețu.

The price for the event dinner in the Gramont restaurant is 820 lei/person and includes the gastronomic menu and the pairing of international wines. Those who wish can reserve their place online at www.gramont.ro.

Oxana Crețu, the visual artist for whom gastronomy lovers predict a Michelin star

Arriving in France at the age of 21, in 2005, after traveling through many countries, Oxana Crețu studied Fine Arts in Bordeaux and later worked in design. In 2017, after becoming a mother, the young woman began to express her creativity through gastronomy, choosing a career in the field. Thus, he opened the Cromagnon restaurant, which recently turned into a gourmet restaurant called INIMA.

Oxana’s plates are very carefully thought out, from presentation to content. From the shape of the dishes to their color and texture, nothing is left to chance. That’s why some lovers of gastronomy in France anticipate that it will reach a Michelin star in the coming years.

“Only 6% of the chefs represented in the prestigious Michelin Guide are women, and of these, an even smaller number is Romanian. At Gramont, we have undertaken the mission of supporting and promoting talents, such as Oxana and working together for it to be recognized internationally. We want Oxana to be the culinary artist who will proudly represent Romania in the Michelin Guide,” said Ruxandra Stoian, operator of the Gramont restaurant.
