Wizz Air launches flights from Bucharest to Nuremberg and Basel

Low cost airline Wizz Air announced on Wednesday it will add Nuremberg and Basel to its portfolio of destinations available to Romanian travelers. From 1 October a twice weekly flight will operate from Cluj-Napoca to Nuremberg, while at the end of October twice weekly services will be launched from Bucharest to Basel in Switzerland and Nuremberg in Germany.

Nuremberg, the latest addition to Wizz Air’s destination map, is the second-largest city in Bavaria and the home to the traditional gingerbread (Lebkuchen) products, sausages and handmade toys, and can now be accessed on direct low fare flights from Bucharest and Cluj- Napoca.

With these 3 new services Wizz Air is now offering a total of 84 routes to 40 destinations from Romania.

The airline has also increased frequencies on some of its most popular routes. London Luton can now be reached with 9 weekly flights from Cluj-Napoca and 20 weekly flights from Bucharest, while the popular service from Bucharest to Malaga moves from seasonal to an all-year-round operation to accommodate demand.

Earlier in the month, Wizz Air announced a new Sibiu route to London. Wizz Air’s newest routes from Romania are already on sale and can be booked at wizzair.com.

Starting this month, Wizz Air also started operating flights from Bucharest to Doncaster Sheffield, Malmo, Malaga and Malta.
