The Travel Channel and Romania’s National Tourism Authority (ANT) will cooperate on a new Wild Carpathia mini-series, which will be centred on the Carpathian Mountains.

The idea has been inspired by an original concept developed by The European Nature Trust – a charity NGO dedicated to the preservation of Europe’s last remaining wilderness, according to Agerpres newswire.

The new episodes will be produced by Almond Films, and will continue to explore the forests and medieval landscapes of Carpathia, along with the local people and personalities who are working to preserve the region.

The Romanian Minister Delegate for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, Tourism and Business Environment Maria Grapini has worked closely with Scripps Networks Interactive, which owns the Travel Channel, to ensure that episodes two and three of Wild Carpathia came to broadcast.

The two sequels will be also shown in over 130 countries (also in Romania, at TVR), and translated into 21 different languages. The collaboration will also see a comprehensive promotional campaign including 24 promotional films featuring stunning locations across the country. The eight three-minute films and 16 one-minute films will focus on a range of subjects including wildlife, adventure, wellness and tourism.
