Telecom operator UPC Romania’s revenues increased 8 percent after the first nine months of the year, from USD 103.6 million in 2013 to USD 111.9 million, on subscriptions sold to clients.
In the third quarter, UPC Romania revenues increased 8.6 percent, from USD 34.7 million in July – September 2013 to USD 37.7 million in the same interval in 2014, according to a report from Liberty Global, the American group that controls UPC Romania.
Last year, UPC Romaniar revenues increased 8 percent to USD 140 million, from USD 130 million in the previous year, mainly due to an increase in the number of clients.
The company’s client portfolio increased in the first nine months of 2014, from 1.160 million clients in September 2013 to 1.165 million clients in September 2014. The number of subscriptions also went up, to 1.889 million contracts, especially due to the growth of the Internet (number of Internet clients up 17 percent to 420,500) and telephone services (clients up to 311,500). UPC added 110,900 contracts in Q3 2014 compared to the third quarter of 2013.
Digital television brought UPC Romania an extra of 22,600 subscriptions in the third quarter, which at September 30, 2014, brings the number of total digital television clients up to 537,400, an annual increase of 18 percent.
