Romanian Lucian Bute defeats Russian Denis Grachev

Romanian boxer Lucian Bute remains on course for a rematch with Carl Froch after returning with a points-win over Denis Grachev in Montreal on November 3, which transformed Bute into the North American Boxing Federation NABF light-heavyweight champion. Grachev lost by the close scores of 115-113, 118-110 and 116-112.

The bout between the Romanian and the Russian was crucial for Bute. He previously lost in May when facing Carl Froch, the International Boxing Federation IBF super middleweight champion.

The Romanian is expected to face Froch again in his home country next year.
