Romania to miss Vinexpo Bordeaux international wine fair

International wine fair Vinexpo Bordeaux will begin on June 14 without Romania’s participation after no company has expressed interest in arranging the pavilion.

The first selection of bids was held on June 2, but no company has attended it, and the second selection of bids was scheduled for June 5, with the same result, reports Mediafax. “A third selection of offers could not be organized due to lack of time,” said the Economy Ministry in a press release.

Wine exporters announced on Wednesday that they will miss the Vinexpo Bordeaux participation as the Ministry of Economy did not find a company to organize the pavilion and an exceptional solution for funding and participation.

The fair takes place from June 14 to 18. Romanian companies could participate under the 2015 Export Promotion Program, unrolled by the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Tourism.
