Orange is preparing to launch satellite TV services

Telecom operator Orange Romania is preparing to launch this year satellite television services which will place it in direct competition with TV providers such as Romtelecom, UPC and RCS&RDS. The company is currently looking for providers that are offering services of installing DTH equipment, according to Capital publication.

According to hdsatelit.blogspot.ro, Orange is already testing DTH services. At the moment, the operator is broadcasting the uncoded channels Acasa TV HD, Sport ro HD, Pro TV HD and Kanal D, according to the same source.

On March 31, 2013, Orange had 10,214,262 customers and posted revenues of EUR 219 million for the first quarter of the year.
