German-based manufacturer of high-end domestic appliances Miele saw in Romania a sales increase by 82 percent in the first quarter (January – March 2015), compared to the same period last year. This is the highest quarterly increase in sales recorded by Miele in Romania. Last year, Miele registered an annual turnover of about RON 10 million (EUR 2.3 million) on the local market.
“We expect Miele premium home appliance sales increase to continue throughout the year and we are confident that a change of strategy for Romania in 2014 will ensure us a sustained growth for the next five years,” stated in a press release Loredana Butnaru, Miele Romania sales director.
Earlier this year, Miele launched in Romania the online premium home appliance showroom on the eMAG Marketplace platform, which lists the full range of products available in the offline showroom in Bucharest, as well as at partners across the country. This partnership is a unique project in Romania and will generate up to 5 percent of all sales made by Miele on the local market this year, the company estimates.
Miele Romania currently has a network of 30 partners and 55 stores and will continue to make new partnerships as part of the company’s development strategy which targets mainly an offline stores presence.
