Microsoft inaugurated in Timisoara a new global technical support center, the second such Microsoft center in Romania after the one opened in Bucharest, according to the publication Ziua de Vest.
The center will cater for corporate clients and software developers in the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa).
Presently, the Microsoft office in Timisoara already has 15 employees and it is expected to add several tens of new ones every year.
“We have chosen to open up in Timisoara due to its well-prepared engineers and because it is s multicultural city and there are many German-speaking graduates,” said Ronald Binkofski, CEO of Microsoft Romania (in picture).
Microsoft signed a collaboration protocol with two universities in Timisoara, the West University and the Politehnica University, so that the students of the two institutions will have access to scholarships and internships at Microsoft.
Microsoft has currently around 400 employees.
