Mega Image opens first store dedicated exclussively to Romanian products

Six years after the launch of the “Gusturi Romanesti” private label brand (Romanian Tastes), Mega Image opens in Bucharest its first Gusturi Romanesti store, a new concept store offering consumers a wide range of traditional Romanian products cooked after traditional recipes.

The new Gusturi Romanesti store has a sales area of 134 sqm and is open in one of the former Angst locations, to be found at 104 Ion Mihalache Boulevard and includes a selection of 380 products.

Besides the Gusturi Romanesti products, the store will provide customers with other traditional product brands as well and there will also be an Angst island.

In the near future, Mega Image plans to open two more Gusturi Romanesti stores, located on the D.I. Mendeleev Street and at Domenii Square in Bucharest.

Mega Image was one of the few retailers that have maintained an aggressive expansion pace over the past years. Last year it opened over 30 new stores after in 2013 it added 104 new units. The retailer has been focusing particularly on opening new Shop & Go proximity stores which have a smaller sales surface compared to the regular Mega Image supermarkets.
