Mega Image opens 3 new units in Bucharest

Mega Image, part of the Belgian group Delhaize, is set to open three new stores in Bucharest this weekend, reaching a total network of 317 units.

Two of the new supermarkets will be opened on Friday: a Mega Image, in district 1 with a surface of 727 square meters; a Shop&Go in district 3 with a total surface of 100 square meters.

On Saturday, the chain will open up a new Mega Image store on Aerogarii Boulevard in district 1, with a surface of 291 square meters.

“Mega Image is constantly expanding its network of units, reaching 317 locations and entering even stronger in the proximity market”, according to a press release from the company.

Retailer Mega Image increased its share capital by EUR 25.2 million this April to finance the opening of new stores and the construction of a new warehouse in Bucharest.

Mega Image is owned by the Belgian Delhaize Group. Most of its local stores are located in Bucharest but the retailer also operates stores in Constanta, Ploiesti, Pitesti, Braov, Targoviste and other local cities.
