Mega Image, owned by Belgian retailer Delhaize Group, will hold opening for 9 new stores in Bucharest (7 new units), Ploiesti and Constanta (1 each) this week, thereby bringing the local network to a total of 401 units, the company announced on Friday, according to Mediafax.
Friday, Mega Image will open four Shop&Go convenience stores with areas between 75 and 118 square meters in Bucharest. Also in the capital, three new supermarkets will be opened on Friday and Saturday.
In Constanta, the retail will inaugurate a new Shop&Go store, while Ploiesti will get a new supermarket under the Mega Image Brand.
Earlier this week, the chain announced it reopened, under its own brand, 18 Angst store it acquired from the meat-by product producer earlier in the year. Mega Image has managed to open over 50 new units in the last three months, given that the network reached the 350 threshold in September.
Another important moment for the last year was entering the e-commerce market through a collaboration started by Mega Image with eMag.
