ING Bank Romania to appoint new CEO

Misu Negritoiu, 62 years old, will be replaced as CEO of ING Bank Romania by the Polish Michal Szczurek,41, starting September. Negritoiu, who has spent 15 years at ING, will become chairman of the Dutch lender.

Szczurek held several management positions within the insurance and banking arms of ING for almost 20 years. Prior to his appointment in Romania, he headed the retail banking division of TMB Thailand, where ING has a stake.

He graduated in law and administration from the Warsaw University and holds a master of arts in economics at the Warsaw University/Columbia University.

Negritoiu was appointed general director of ING Bank and CEO Wholesale Banking in 2006 and became CEO of ING Bank Romania in 2010.
