Romania’s Gral Medical, a private healthcare provider, inaugurated on Tuesday the OncoFort hospital in Bucharest, following a EUR 7 million investment.
The hospital, which currently has a capacity of 50 beds, primarily offers services in laparoscopic surgical oncology, also handling interventions in the area of urology or the digestive system. The new hospital has an ambulatory ward and offers a wide array of services in prevention.
“I am confident regarding the direction of the OncoFort hospital. We did around two to three surgeries daily in the first week of operations,” said Gral Medical shareholder Robert Serban, in a statement. The company opened earlier this year a new health center in the city of Ramnicu Valcea.
The company suggested the hospital could serve patients outside Bucharest, after authorities closed some of the public hospitals across the country.
Gral Medical aims to generate around EUR 4 million from this hospital in the first year of operations, planning to increase its capacity to 100 beds. The company said its main asset is the team of famous surgeons working in the hospital.
The healthcare services provider has a network of 24 medical centers, including laboratories, clinics and imaging centers, employing over 1,200 MDs and nurses.
