Sorin Oprescu, the mayor of Bucharest, announced on Thursday that Gabroveni Inn will be opened to the public on April 30, while the building has been reconstructed to closely resemble the original model.

According to municipality officials, the old part of the inn, was rehabilitated using Norwegian funds as well, whereas the new section will be finalized in the following five months. At the press conference, Eugen Teodorovici, minister of European Funds, said he plans to make the first edition of the annual meeting of representatives of the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism at the Gabroveni Inn, also with Norwegian funds.

The restoration of the Gabroveni Inn will offer the cultural circuit of Romania’s capital city a new auditorium of approximately 200 seats. The last auditorium built in Bucharest was the hall at the Excelsior Theater, inaugurated in 2011, writes Mediafax newswire.

Gabroveni Inn was facelifted with an investment of EUR 8.3 million (not including VAT) from both the Sectoral Operational Program and City Hall.
