eMag estimates EUR 33.8 mln from Black Friday sales

eMag, the online store that launched Black Friday in Romania, will sell a range of 450,000 products during Black Friday, on November 21, at discounts which total nearly EUR 17 million (RON 75 million).

The range of products on discount counts IT products, mobile phones, cameras, home appliances, personal care, cosmetics, books, toys, furniture, cars, home & garden.

eMag estimates total sales of EUR 33.8 million (RON 150 million) during Black Friday. The discounts will reach even 75 percent.

“Behind this event, there are 1,000 people, over 200 suppliers and large investments in logistics and IT infrastructure,” said Iulian Stanciu (in picture), general manager of eMag.

To prepare for Black Friday 2014, eMag invested EUR 1.1 million (RON 5 million) into servers and RON 2 million into the online platform.

The Black Friday products occupy 10,000 square meters in the eMag warehouses and 240 people will work 24/7 to prepare the orders. To deliver the products, eMag has signed partnerships with FAN Curier, Cargus, DPD and TNT for a delivery flow of 150lorries/day, so that orders will be delivered within 6 days.

The eMag team has approximately 1,000 employees.
