Companies offer 50 pct more gift vouchers in March, says Sodexo

Companies opt to offer gift vouchers to female employees over March 1-8, shows a Sodexo survey. The volume of gift vouchers offered last year to female employees during March 1-8 increased by almost 50 percent against the same period of 2013.

Over 45 percent of companies that offered gift vouchers in 2014 on the occasion of March 8 activate in the industrial, services and distribution sectors. The top three industries are the distribution industry (20 percent), the chemical and metallurgy industry (15 percent) and the consumer goods industry (10 percent). Most companies (52 percent) granting this benefit have between 1 and 19 employees. Over 27 percent of companies are based in Bucharest and Ilfov County.

More than 40 percent of the female employees who receive Sodexo Gift Pass vouchers on March 8 intend to use them to buy cosmetics, while 18 percent expressed their wish to buy outfits and 7 percent will choose jewelry.

The average value of the gift vouchers is RON 150 (EUR 33) per event.
