Romania’s industrial production in April increased from a year ago, a report from the National Institute Of Statistics showed Wednesday. Industrial production rose by a working-day and seasonally adjusted 5.9 percent year-over-year in April.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial output fell a working-day and seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent in April.
Earlier in the week, INS stats showed that orders and sales were both down in April, signaling that the industrial sector is cooling down after being one of the main engines of Romania’s 3.5 percent economic growth in the previous year.
Romanian industrial sales fell 4.3 percent in April from a month earlier and new orders dropped 8.5 percent, on declining demand in all sectors, the country’s statistics institute INS said Tuesday.
