The Romanian minister of Environment and Forestry, Laszlo Barely, stated today that the ministry is looking into the possibility of subsidizing individual residential wind installment through a governmental scheme, according to Agerpres newswire.

This statement was made today during an event of green energy. The assistance scheme could be similar to the “Green House” program that promotes the usage of clean energy sources like solar or water pumps.

Borbely added that around 100 companies that have invested in the renewable energy sector have benefited from subsidies in the last year. The minister added that the subsidy limit is EUR 7 million and 50 percent of the investment.

“Romania is currently producing and delivering to consumers about 7 percent of green energy and we have to reach 24 percent by 2020”, said Borbeley.
