The Hope and Homes for Children Foundation Names the 15 Winners of the DAR Scholarships

This year, the Hope and Homes for Children Romania Foundation supports 15 vulnerable children and young individuals through the DAR Scholarships initiative. Launched in 2022, this project aims to identify children with exceptional achievements and support their excellence, ensuring that their potential shines brightly despite adversities.

The scholars for the 2023-2024 academic year encompass both students and pupils hailing from Bucharest and various counties across the country, bringing together promising talents and diverse perspectives from all corners. Alongside the Hope and Homes for Children team, this year’s jury features personalities from a multitude of fields, including journalists Amalia Enache, Florin Negruțiu, Mihai Morar, swimming coach Adrian Rădulescu, violinist Alexandru Tomescu, psychologist Diana Vasile, and trainer Dorin Boabeș.

The DAR Scholarships Program seeks to offer equal opportunities to talented children. The Foundation committed last year to support the exceptional potential of those with remarkable achievements, ensuring that tales of hardship or limitations no longer hinder their growth.

“Be it in painting, dancing, sports, sciences, or education in general, talent should not be bound by social constraints. What we can do is stand beside the children in need of support to nurture their talents. DAR scholars are granted the chance to pursue their dreams, participate in competitions, or enhance their skills by accessing resources that help them become their true selves,” states Robert Ion, General Director of Hope and Homes for Children Romania.

Each scholarship within the “DAR Scholarships” program is valued at 2,000 euros.

This sum stands as a substantial resource for the young recipients, to be utilized for supporting and nurturing their talents. To ensure these children make the best choices, the social workers of the Hope and Homes for Children Foundation closely collaborate with scholarship beneficiaries, guiding them in the right direction and providing the appropriate support.

The Foundation has committed to continuing this scholarship program annually for the long term. The developed program not only offers financial support but also creates an environment for learning and development, enabling these children to grow and take their talents further.
