Thus, Veolia Romania Integrated Solutions continues its partnership with the City of Otopeni, providing drinking water collection, treatment, and distribution services and wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal for more than 21.000 inhabitants.

By extending the contract, Veolia Romania Integrated Solutions has undertaken to implement a new investment program worth an estimated 13.7 million euros over eight years, with the key objectives of expanding and modernizing the wastewater treatment plant and the water supply and sewerage networks.

The operator will integrate state-of-the-art sustainable technologies and invest around 6.7 million euros to carry out the expansion and modernization of the wastewater treatment plant.

In addition, VRSI will make every effort to ensure that work on the extension and modernization of the wastewater treatment plant will start in the second half of 2024, with the completion of the investment expected in 2027.

“By extending the concession contract and assuming responsibility for the extension and modernization of the wastewater treatment plant, a major priority for the City of Otopeni, Veolia Romania reaffirms its commitment to providing public services at the highest quality standards. The €13.7 million investment reflects our determination to bring sustainable benefits to the community of Otopeni City. In the spirit of efficient and transparent collaboration with the local authorities, we are ready to take this long-term partnership forward, contributing to the sustainable development of the city and ensuring access to essential services for all residents,” said Mădălin Mihailovici, CEO of Veolia Romania.

Through operational and managerial efficiency, Veolia Romania Integrated Solutions has successfully achieved the objectives of the concession contract.
