Cargus opens the 500th Ship & GO point in Romania

Cargus is dedicated to connecting every aspect of online shopping in Romania and provides online delivery with more and more delivery options, supporting e-commerce players to increase sales by using an affordable, flexible and high-performance click & collect service, which attracts and retains consumers.

The company has constantly invested in the development of the click & collect service under the Cargus Ship & Go brand, successively increasing the number of convenient access point locations, either through the acquisition of new spaces in its own name or through partnerships with local businesses. This is a response to the growing needs of online consumers, who expect deliveries not only to the address, but also to nearby locations, where they can conveniently pick up their packages at any time of the day. 

The first step of our three-year strategy of providing the best courier service on the market was to build a solid foundation, investing in operational infrastructure in order to maintain the highest delivery standards and to prepare the organization for the future digital transformation. Last year our priority was to focus on implementing the most innovative last mile solutions available on the market to improve the customer experience through a fast and seamless pick-up and delivery process, the opening of our 500th Ship & Go point is an important milestone towards achieving our goal of building a national network of 2000 PUDO points this year and a sustainable delivery service that contributes to reducing our carbon footprint.” said Jarosław Śliwa, CEO of Cargus. 

The Ship & Go point number 500 was opened on Mihai Bravu Road, inside The Molecule Effect cafe, to serve the Iancului area from Bucharest. The decision to open this point of sending and receiving parcels comes in the context of a growing demand on courier market for flexible deliveries, at low costs. We offer customers access to 500 locations, in most popular cities throughout Romania, where recipients are able to indicate their favorite Ship & Go location as a point of delivery for their parcels and we continuously expand the national Ship & Go points network, achieving the performance of doubling their number in Romania, in less than three months” declared Alexandru Moraru,  Head of PUDO (Ship & Go) Cargus network. 

At this moment, Ship & Go points are open in Bucharest, Cluj, Constanța, Timișoara, Brașov and Pitești. And from March, another 4 cities will be added in the network: Iași, Craiova, Oradea and Ploiești. The full list of 500 Ship & Go locations is available both in-app and on the Cargus web platform. 

Recipients receive next day delivery to all Ship & Go points in the country, from the moment the Cargus courier receives the package from the seller. Then, they have up to 5 working days to pick up their packages, if they choose a Ship & Go point from the beginning as a delivery destination. 

The Ship & Go network play an important role in address-based deliveries for individual customers as part of dynamic rerouting and advised deliveries, offering flexible parcel shipping and collection. Deliveries can be managed dynamically through the Cargus Mobile app – within individual Cargus account, landing page or directly via courier and redirected to a preferred Ship & Go point.  

In case courier will not reach the recipient at address, the courier will try again to deliver shipment next business day, always covered by Avizo SMS and email notifications. Later, the package will be redirected to the nearest Ship & Go location and there it will wait for recipient collection 72 hours. 

In the Ship & Go network, is, also, available, now, the innovative link payment solution, launched by Cargus this month, which is a premiere on the Romanian courier market for parcels paid on delivery, fast and secure, without cash. Cargus further simplifies the online shopping process and supports its customers – online stores – who do not yet offer this payment option for their products. 

At the same time, the expansion of the Ship & Go network is supported by a promotional offer, dedicated to business customers, which reduces the delivery price by almost 50%, compared to the direct delivery to the address price, through the Easy Collect Standard service.
