Pehart Group, the number 1 Romanian company of paper products for household use, optimizes its most popular brand, Pufina: all products in this range have been improved and given new packaging. Thus, with the evolution of Pufina brand, the quality of the products now reaches the top level, and the packaging is a superior one both in terms of design and quality: the new packaging is 100% recyclable and, thus, environmentally friendly.

In addition, the portfolio of the most popular Pehart brand to be found on Romanian consumers’ trust list also diversifies with the launch of a new product: the wet bathroom-tissue, available in three types: Pufina Junior, for children’s delicate skin, PufinaSensitive, an assortment of unscented white wet paper, and Lavender Puff, with lavender scent.

“This change represents a natural evolution of Pufina brand,” says Gabriel Stanciu, General Manager of Pehart Grup. “More than a year ago, we purchased a new line for converting paper into finished products, and the technologies we use are some of the best in the world, allowing us to achieve the quality we target. We have upgraded the Pufina product portfolio so that it meets the needs of Romanian consumers, but also of foreign customers, as part of our development strategy in other markets as well. We intend to bring Pufina to the homes of Europeans in neighbouring countries, too.” For this reason, information on Pufina’s recyclable packaging can be read in Romanian, but also in English, Serbian, Hungarian, Bulgarian etc.

The superior quality of the new Pufina products is achieved with the top technologies used on the paper conversion line which the company invested in last year. “We use the highest quality paper and, in addition, recent investments in technology allow us to now offer superior product quality that also meets strict environmental criteria. For example, for the white toilet paper, we use a new technology  called Aquabond, which helps bond the paper layers only on a water basis, without adhesives. Thus, the final product is friendlier to the environment and to the skin”, explains Raluca Păun, marketing consultant of Pehart Grup.

The quality improvement was made not only for the products, but also their packaging. Produced in European factories, the packaging foil is made of polyethylene, with low density, 100% recyclable, bearing an inscribed call for selective recycling. “For paper products packaged in 20-roll packs, the bag can also be reused as a garbage bag. In this way, we ensure that there is another stage in the packaging’s life, before it reaches recycling”, Raluca Păun adds.

The Pufina portfolio has also been completed with the range of facial tissues packed in cardboard boxes, a product delivered on the new packaging line in Pehart factory.

With an almost 20-year history, Pufina is one of the most successful Romanian brands, which has consolidated its brand image, as well as its presence on the shelves of major retail chains year after year, becoming the market leader in certain segments in 2022 (kitchen towels), according to the Nielsen report. Launched 17 years ago, the Pufina product portfolio has periodically expanded its range of products and has constantly improved its quality by investments in high-performance technologies (Aquabond or the paper embossing system with heated rolls, among the first technologies of this kind in the world, which ensures resistance, but also the delicacy of the products).

Pehart currently exports Pufina products to 5 countries – Bulgaria, Moldova, Serbia, Austria and Germany – but is present with products for industrial use in 18 countries in central, eastern and southern Europe. In addition to Pufina, Pehart also produces the brands Alint and Altessa.

Pehart Grup is one of the largest producers of tissue paper in South-Eastern Europe and the largest producer and processor of paper products for household use in Romania. Pehart produces 100,000 tons of tissue paper annually in its two factories in Petrești, Alba and Dej, Cluj and has a processing capacity of over 75,000 tons of finished products. 70% of the entire amount of household and industrial products is sold in Romania, and the rest is exported. Pehart also provides the production of household paper products for a large part of the own brand products of the retail chains.
