Uber’s 2023 Year in Review

At the end of 2023, Uber reflects on the things appreciated by riders, from popular locations to favourite Uber products. The most sought-after cities in Europe that stood out with remarkable growth include Dijon in France, with a 1072% increase in rides, Valencia, Spain with a 444% increase, and Florence, Italy with a 243% increase. International travels followed a familiar seasonal pattern, peaking in June and September, while snow-seeking tourists chose Finland, Austria, and Germany between November and December.

 

The most generous cities in 2023 turned out to be Zug, Switzerland, with an average tip of $3.68, closely followed by Florence, Italy, with $3.67, and Mallorca, Spain, with $3.57. Looking at the highest driver ratings, Tenerife was the city where the average ratings for Uber drivers reached 4.98, and in Rovaniemi, the home of Santa Claus in Finland, ratings even reached an average of 4.99

Here are a few figures on how Europeans travel with Uber:

The longest Uber ride took place in the United Kingdom, covering a distance of 446 km. On the other hand, the shortest Uber ride was just 100 metres, somewhere in Portugal.
This year has proven to be a good one for exploring other Uber products beyond the well-known UberX, with a 24,974% increase for Uber SUV in Finland and a 483% growth for Uber Green in Poland.
Riders in Sweden benefited from Uber services 24/7, with 11:00 PM being the most popular time of day for ride requests.
Rovaniemi, Finland, the home of Santa Claus, holds the highest average ratings at 4.99.
In Austria, Belgium, France, Poland, and Switzerland, the most popular day for Uber rides was the first day of the year, January 1.
In 2023, riders in Finland chose to prioritise comfort, with a 244% increase in Uber Comfort rides.
Drivers in Poland were appreciated for the cleanliness of their cars, while drivers in Austria were praised for their pleasant conversations.
