Uber launches UberXL. The service comes with a special edition for the SAGA Festival attendees

Marking the beginning of the festival season, Uber, the world’s leading ridesharing company, launches UberXL in Romania. The launch of this product is a significant step towards providing a more budget friendly option for up to 6 riders, or for 4 riders and 2 large pieces of luggage. 

UberXL is the high-capacity version of UberX, where riders can request a car that has capacity for up to 6 passengers. This option is great for riders who want to travel in a group or who have extra luggage, for example, for trips to and from the airport. One UberXL ride will cost 50% more than the basic UberX service, but passengers will save money by ordering one car instead of two for a group.

As part of the launch, Uber is partnering with the SAGA Festival to showcase the perks of UberXL, the perfect ride for groups of friends going to the event. Festival-goers will have the unique opportunity to experience UberXL with a twist, having a trip like a party: special rides featuring disco balls, festival music and exclusive discounts for those attending the SAGA Festival.

Between the 5th & 7th of July, people can order Uber XL to experience group travels with their friends like never before. The rest of the Uber services will also be available on the app at riders’ disposal.

The UberXL service is available only in Bucharest and offers riders the opportunity to travel in comfortable vans or SUVs, such as Mercedes V-Class, Ford Tourneo Connect, Mitsubishi Outlander.

UberXL is available in multiple cities worldwide, such as London, Prague or San Francisco.

How to ride with UberXL 

1. Request
   Open the app and enter your destination in the “Where to?” box. Once you confirm that your pickup and destination addresses are correct, choose UberXL  at the bottom of your screen. Then tap Confirm UberXL.
   Once you’ve been matched, you’ll see your driver’s picture and vehicle details and can track their arrival on the map.

2. Ride
   Check that the vehicle details match what you see in the app before getting in the car.
   Your driver has your destination and directions for the fastest way to get there, but you can always request a specific route.
3. Hop Out
   You’ll be automatically charged through your chosen payment method, so you can exit your ride as soon as you arrive.
   Remember to rate your driver to help improve the safety of Uber and make it enjoyable for everyone.
