Over 60% of Romanian entrepreneurs estimate losses between 1,000 euros and 10,000 euros monthly in the absence of effective business promotion on Facebook and other social networks, according to a study conducted by the digital marketing agency Marketing Deck. Although 77% of participants believe it is very important to constantly create content on social media, less than a third do so on a regular basis.

“For certain sectors, such as fashion, beauty, education, events, and liberal professions, social media is the main promotion channel. The easiest way to see the results is in small businesses, which otherwise manage to double their sales in a short time, of a few months, through social media. There are both e-commerce and offline businesses that find their customers on the Internet, given that millions of people are exposed to messages and advertisements on Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.”, explains Paul Ardeleanu, founder of Marketing Deck.

The Marketing Deck study shows that Romanian entrepreneurs are willing to invest 600 euros per month in advertising on social networks and, implicitly, to increase investment in advertising on Facebook or TikTok once sales results are achieved.

Moreover, in Romania, the number of entrepreneurs who promote their business on social networks by themselves is increasing, on average by 30% per year, according to the estimates of Marketing Deck, which offers specialized courses to entrepreneurs.

Although online promotion is essential to growing a business, regardless of size, only one in four entrepreneurs took a course on social media promotion before investing in Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok ads on their own, according to Marketing Deck.

To contribute to the development of digital skills, Marketing Deck organizes comprehensive social media marketing courses in which the way social platform algorithms work is presented and explained. So far, 400 trainees have developed their social media skills to reach customers in these channels, with demand for this type of course increasing by 50% in the last year compared to the previous year.

1,204 people participated in the Marketing Deck study, of which 46% were entrepreneurs, 21% were freelancers, and the rest were employees, students or unemployed.
