Filip & Company assists DIGI in the transaction of the year in Romania and Hungary

Filip & Company Law Firm assisted DIGI in the sale of DIGI Távközlési Szolgáltató Ltd. and of its subsidiaries Invitel, I TV and DIGI Infrastructure towards 4iG, active on the IT and telecommunications market in Hungary. The transaction was concluded on Monday, 29 November, the value of the investment reaching EUR 625 million.

This transaction is (by far) the largest M&A transaction of a Romanian company outside Romania, the largest Romanian transaction of this year and, as I believe, the largest transaction in Hungary also. But we owe all of these to the efforts put up by DIGI to build in 23 years the most advanced telecommunications network in Hungary and to win the trust of its Hungarian clients. I hope that DIGI will to continue to be successful outside the country as well and that its success will inspire the other Romanian entrepreneurs to have the courage to take the good things they carry out in Romania on an international level”, said Alexandru Bîrsan, partner and coordinator of the M&A and Capital Markets department of Filip & Company.
