The current economic context is changing the priorities of Romanians when it comes to their careers, as well as their personal lives, with these two aspects more interconnected than ever before. An increasing number of young people in Romania are choosing to postpone or cancel important plans in their personal lives, such as starting a family or buying a home, due to the cost of living and the state of the economy, according to a recent study published by Deloitte.

At the same time, in their professional plans, they are seeking jobs that offer long-term security or are turning towards rapidly developing fields, such as IT and cybersecurity, renewable energy, digital content, financial investments, and healthcare, as indicated by trends on the bestjobs platform. Candidates continue to explore the job market, with an average of over half a million applications submitted monthly, according to bestjobs data.

When it comes to technology, we notice a high demand for AI specialists and data security experts, as well as engineers in renewable energy. Some of these jobs didn’t even exist 10 years ago or weren’t as sought after, which indicates the accelerated pace at which our world is developing,” says Ana Vișian, marketing manager at bestjobs.
