Employees in financial, engineering, transport fields submitted highest number of new job applications in September

In September 2019, candidates showed more interest in changing their jobs, as companies registered 15 percent more job applications on the BestJobs platform. At the same time, the total volume of applications increased by 17 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Jobs in financial-accounting, engineering and transport were the target of most of the searches carried out by candidates in September, with over 74,000 searches in total and 24 percent more than in the previous month.

The surprise in September came from the medical & pharma field, where specialized employees were more concerned about the prospect of a new job than those in fields such as sales or BPO (Business Process Outsourcing), whose interest was constant throughout the year. Employees in the medical & pharma field registered over 18,000 job searches, with most interested in positions such as nurse or pharmacist.

Other areas that registered a large number of candidates seeking employment in September were human resources (over 14,000 searches), sales and IT (over 13,000 searches each), as well as legal, with over 12,000 searches.

At the same time, the top 3 jobs in September, which attracted over 3,000 candidates in total, were: Interbrands – Area Sales Manager (1,181 applicants), Else Medical – Assistant Manager (923 applicants) and Deichmann – Sales Assistant (804 applicants).

The companies with the most applications in September were Interbrands (3,063 applicants), Continental Automotive Group (2,146 applicants) and Banca Transilvania (1,990 applicants). The following positions were taken by Mega Image (1,901 applicants), Deichmann (1,871 applicants), Oracle (1,822 applicants), First Bank (1,631 applicants), Kaufland (1,576 applicants), DVR Pharm (1,484 applicants) and MedLife (1,413 applicants).

There were also many candidates who applied directly on companies’ profile pages on BestJobs. The companies with the best employer brands during this month were: Continental Automotive Group, with 128 spontaneous applications, Oracle, with 126, Coca Cola HBC (114), Adidas Romania(112) Banca Transilvania (106), A&D Pharma (105), Deichmann (94) spontaneous applications, Orange Romania, (91), BCR (85), and Enel (78).
