Alina Amza, Group Wellbeing & Inclusion Director at Superbet, award partners of the Employer of the Year | Working Romania Champion category, talked to BR about how the #futureofwork is shaping up at Superbet, one of the largest employers in the local gambling industry.
How do you see the future of work and how have your employees adapted to the new market conditions?
The future of work is all about flexibility and the focus will be on the employees and the way they choose to work, when they choose to work, and where they choose to work. Lately, employers have become aware of the fact that people have an active life beyond work and they really started striving to offer employees great opportunities to meet their lifestyle needs. And when we speak about their lifestyle needs, to give you some examples, we also speak about, care for children, family time, time allocated for their hobbies, their passions, CSR actions, and so forth. And there are many benefits associated with this work flexibility. If we are to name some of them, we can speak about the fact that it boosts employee satisfaction, it helps organizations attract and retain talents, supports diversity, and also increases productivity.
How did are our employees adapted? Well, they adapted amazingly. They showed a great deal of resilience and they responded very well to the new normal challenges. What did we do during this time? We realized that it’s very important to have a continuous dialogue with them and also adapt to their needs. To give you some examples, we partnered with Atlas for mental healthcare, we equipped the leaders with tools and know-how in order to further support their teams, we also organized social activities for our employees, we implemented open annual leave, which in fact means unlimited days off for our people in order to decrease the levels of burnout and stress. And we have already started designing the framework for hybrid working, which besides all the other benefits will also help us accommodate new nationalities within our teams and operate in different time zones, as all the other international companies need to do.
