UPDATE: Rock the City Festival sets final location

The third edition of Rock the City festival will bring, among others, WhiteSnake, Judas Priest, Prodigy and Mike and The Mechanics , to Piata Constitutiei in Bucharest, on July 1, 2 and 3.

After previous concerts in Romania in 1997 and 2008, David Coverdale and his colleagues in Whitesnake will be back in Bucharest on July 3, in Romexpo. On March 25, the band have launched their 11th album in Europe, Forevermore, which is to be promoted through a world tour, including Romania.

Judas Priest have also included Romania in their Epitaph World Tour, bound as the last tour of their career. Prodigy are returning to Romania for the fourth time and the likes of “Breathe”, “Voodoo People”, “Firestarter” and “Smack My Bitch Up” are bound to echo in Piata Constutiei at the festival.

Rock the City is organized by D&D East Entertainment. Tickets are available in the Eventim network, Germanos and Vodafone stores, Carturesti and Humanitas bookstores or online from the site www.eventim.ro. Public access will be made starting at 14.00 and concerts will be starting at 17.00.

UPDATE: Rock the City festival has set its final location for Romexpo venue. Sonisphere festival will not take place this year, due to lack of headliners for the local market, announced D&D East Entertainment officials. The most recent confirmations to the festival are: Papa Roach, Hatebreed, Therapy?, Sabaton and Boom. At least one major Romanian band is expected to arrive per festival day – official announcements will be made shortly.

Sonisphere’s 2011 headliners are Iron Maiden and Slipknot, and Iron Maiden have only been to Romania last year, stating they wouldn’t return to the country so close to their last appearance, announced D&D East Entertainment officials.

Tickets for special fees have been put on sale today, starting at the price of RON 100. Thus, until April 15, access for one day in the Normal Circle area will be made at the cost of RON 100 and in the Golden Circle area, RON 155. A full pass will cost RON 200 in the Normal Circle and RON 250 in the Golden Circle. Afterwards, the prices will be: RON 155 for a day in the Normal Circle section and RON 230 for a full pass, and RON 185 in the Golden Circle for a day pass, will full day access will cost RON 280. As mentioned above, tickets are available in the Eventim chain.
