The resident orchestra of Plymouth University, Ten Tors Orchestra will deliver its first concert in Romania next week, on November 22nd. The concert will take place at the Romanian Athenaeum, starting 19.00. The orchestra will be led by conductor Simon Ible (pictured) and will play alongside Romanian soloists Ladislau Csendes, Alexandru Matei, Sorin Rotaru and Florian Mitrea.
The program includes works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, John Ireland, Doina Rotaru, George Enescu and Edward Elgar. On November 21 Simon Ible will deliver a master class to students of the conducting section at the Bucharest National Music University.
The Ten Tors orchestra is a professional concert orchestra based in the South West of England. It was founded by Simon Ible, who is also Peninsula Arts’ Director of Music. It is the resident Orchestra of Plymouth University. Many of the players have been members of leading UK and international orchestras and ensembles, bringing great experience to this, the premier professional chamber orchestra in Devon and Cornwall.
