The three-time Grammy award winner and former apprentice of Joe Satriani, American guitarist Steve Vai will hold his second concert in Romania, but this time in the capital city, at Sala Polivalenta, on December 8. Vai previously came to Romania in 2009, when he received the career award at the Golden Stag (Cerbul de Aur) ceremony held in Brasov.

Vai will perform with The Evolution Tempo Orchestra, as part of a rock-symphonic extravaganza. The opening acts will be Proconsul (Romania), George Baicea Band (Romania) and Magnetofono (Italy). Vai’s concert is included in the Music Contaminations International Festival, now on its fourth run, aiming to intensify the Romanian-Italian cultural exchange and promoting ecology.

The guitarist returned to the spotlight with the launch of his 2009 Where the Wild Things Are album. The titling song of the album received a Grammy nomination for the Best Rock Instrumental category, while the album itself reached high chart positions and sales numbers. In 2010, Vai released Where the Other Wild Things Are, comprising of the 12 tracks that had not been included in the 2009 album.

Tickets may be purchased on myticket.ro, ticketpoint.ro, eventim.ro, as well as in the Carturesti libraries. Ticket fees range between RON 40 and 190.
